Article move

[edit]

Andre, why did you move Bonn? I thought there was an agreement on city article titles. --Ed Poor — Preceding undated comment added 11:43, 26 August 2002 (UTC)[reply]

History of Bonn

[edit]

It was occupied by Canadians after WWI

Shouldn't that be included? I maybe able to get a picture of Canadian troops in Bonn in 1918. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt fer82 (talkcontribs) 00:07, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I found a MAJOR problem.....There is a link for Bonn that is really in MUNICH. In my opinion this article needs clean-up, but I don't want to put a banner at the top of the article though, because some may disagree with my decision. Anyway, just saying about that museum. I cleared it out, but I fear that there may be more things like that in the article. Kornfan71 21:34, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell us which link are you talking about, all I see are correctly to museums in Bonn. --Trickstar 22:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe he thought of de:Deutsches Museum which has a branch office in Bonn.--Borheinsieg 16:28, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that was the one. I took it out because of where it was said to be located in this article. Sorry, I haven't been on to check my posts lately. Kornfan71 01:38, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huger images please

[edit]

The images are not huge enough. Please make them huger. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blackfield (talkcontribs) 19:49, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please introduce the Infobox German Location. It provides a coherent look among German cities. Lear 21 23:03, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oberkassel

[edit]

I've deleted the redirect 'Oberkassel', because it leaded to the same named suburb of Düsseldorf. I haven't found an article about Bonn's district Oberkassel. --84.44.203.187 16:57, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Mockridge

[edit]

Not sure the Mockridge family warrant a whole section in the article on Bonn! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.117.82.3 (talk) 10:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, i'm sure it doesn't, either get an own article for these, as it's not really closely related to Bonn, or take it out of wikipedia. --Trickstar (talk) 11:23, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Embassies

[edit]

Since Bonn was the capital for 40+ years, it must have a large diplomatic area with many former embasies? Have they all been gutted since the move to Berlin? --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 04:45, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was no diplomatic area. The most embasies were scattered in the district of Bad Godesberg.(Russia/USSR,USA,China...) --?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.246.7.187 (talk) 02:33, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Two thirds of the personell working for ministries is still employed in Bonn. Many embassies have turned into consulates, where people still can get visa. The former diplomatic area is the Bundesviertel mentioned in the article. --Trickstar (talk) 14:06, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is it allowed to use other Wikipedias as sources? For some reason I don't think it should be allowed. Surtsicna (talk) 16:47, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Twinned cities

[edit]

The wiki article for Belfast says its twinned with Bonn, should this be in the section or has it been deliberatly left out because there is already a UK twin mentioned (If yes the opening of the section should explain this rule). I'd put it in myself but I don't quite know how or which flag to use (Though logically it should be a union flag).(86.31.182.228 (talk) 03:03, 7 February 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I don't know what this information is based on, but neither have I heard anything about a partnership with Belfast in Bonn, nor does the websites of Bonn or Belfast City Councils list each other. This must be a mixup in the Belfast article and should be looked into. --Trickstar (talk) 14:04, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The link at the bottom which refers to the university of bonn does not work. It should be like: http://www3.uni-bonn.de/the-university oder simply http://www.uni-bonn.de —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.34.160.129 (talk) 05:10, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Federal City/Bundesstadt section

[edit]

Hi, I think it'd be useful to have a single section that summarizes information about the Bundesstadt/Federal City status of Bonn. Similar to de:Bonn#Bundesstadt. What do you think? Cheers, Horst-schlaemma (talk) 12:03, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is missing from the recently created city timeline article? Please add relevant content. Contributions welcome. Thank you. -- M2545 (talk) 14:07, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Rhinish Regional Museum" vs "Rhineland Museum"

[edit]

Recently (sadly, I can't remember the year this happened), the "Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn" was renamed to LVR LandesMuseum (see [its homepage]). It has no official English name but is described as "Rhineland Museum" on the city's information boards. Is the wording in the article supposed to be an English name or a translation of the original one?

Edits made

[edit]

I added some stuff about the Bonn Republic and why it was chosen as the capital, and dispelled some rumors that I had read. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wdsteven (talkcontribs) 02:12, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
